ABOUT BRETT HOOG

I am attending the University of Cincinnati and studying civil engineering. I am a member of TEA @ UC and a member of the Bearcat Bands. I am extremely passionate about the themed entertainment industry and have aspirations of pursuing a full time career in ride/attraction design and/or construction.

I participated in this competition because of the opportunity to learn about and get valuable experience in everyday aspects of design, engineering, and construction. I feel this competition stands out from most other competitions since we have to build our ride and make it run. Also, if our ride broke down, we would be required to fix it as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This competition has helped me obtain a more in depth understanding of the different practices that are put into creating a fully functional ride. While our ride did not operate as planned, this competition was a fantastic learning experience. This was the first time I had done anything like this and now know what to expect. I am excited to get started on my next model!
